Event description

We’ll kick off SF Design Week on June 7th, 2018 at Pier 27 on the waterfront with a few thousand attendees. This year we come together to celebrate design, innovation, community and the actions we can take together to make this world a better place.

Highlights include:

  • Airbnb Design: Exposition of Chaos
  • San Francisco Design Week Awards Exhibition
  • Design Experience “Natural Glow” created by artists Leah Rosenberg (Creative Director of the Color Factory) and JD Beltran play with stripes, checkers, and pattern to create magically “glowing” interior vignettes, using vibrant fluorescent colors and black light.
  • ‘Philanthropost’ by Britelite Immersive: a storytelling sculpture to support artist endeavors
  • Stanford d.school environmental exhibit
  • Artist installations by 4 Letter Word by Purin Phanichphant Brian Singer & Chloe Bensahel
  • Check out our ‘Start-up Alley’ featuring tables and displays of new tech or products by emerging companies
  • Enjoy contemporary music by Matt EL and dance performance by CALI & CO
  • Live music from DJ Cira, engineer at Slack
  • Delightful offerings available for purchase at food trucks by Off the Grid, and beer by Fort Point Brewery
  • Interactive displays and tables will be placed throughout the space featuring products from the industry
  • Each guest that is 21+ will receive one voucher for a Fort Point beer! Additional drinks are available for purchase.

    The ticket provides access to the opening night reception for San Francisco Design Week only. Tickets for individual SFDW events may be purchased separately.

    *A limited number of scholarships are available to students and those in financial need. Please email an inquiry to harper@sfdesignweek.org explaining why you are seeking a scholarship and how the workshop would specifically benefit you. Please include in the subject line, “Opening Night Scholarship.”
